Have you ever wondered how coffee makes its way from the tree to your favorite Starbucks store or supermarket? Come in and see the process at the largest Starbucks roasting plant in their network!

Roasting, packaging and distributing Starbucks coffee takes clear communication across multiple lines of business, a strong sense of team and innovation to “challenge the status quo,” driving the business into the future. The unique Starbucks Experience applies not only to customers in the stores, but to the partners (employees) as well.

Pamela Adam, Starbucks’ senior learning specialist, is applying a streamlined performance and development plan for all levels of partners centered around growth mindset and social needs. Join us for an overview of this network-wide initiative which aligns the Starbucks Mission and Values with their current learning and development approach.

Please arrive by 4:45pm to complete a quick security orientation before the meeting.

As a part of this event, a tour of the York Roasting Plant and part of the Distribution Center will be offered. Due to this facility manufacturing food products using various machines and equipment, there are guidelines which must be followed when on the plant floor:
  • Earrings, facial piercings, rings (unless plain gold band), watches, bracelets, necklaces must be removed prior to entering the plant floor.
  • Shirts worn must have sleeves.
  • Pants worn must be full-length.
  • Shoes worn must cover toes and have a closed heel (no higher than 1 inch) to accommodate the safety shoe covers.
  • Cologne, perfume, heavily scented deodorant or body lotion (or other fragrances) are not permitted at any time on the plant floor or warehouse. Coffee is very sensitive to other scents which can affect its scent or flavor during production.
