Our 2021 Capability Conversation Series kicks off with a conversation about career paths and career conversations with Dave Scholten.

In this presentation, Dave will share information about how leaders can collaborate with their employees to design valuable and effective career paths.  The conversation will also include how to navigate a 3-year career path conversation and plan at every employee's annual evaluation.  Dave will provide examples and stories from his experience as a certified coach.

Presenter:

Dave Scholten started his professional career in food service while in high school. The first half of his career was working for independent operations from East Lansing, MI, to Minneapolis, MN, to Washington, DC, and back to Michigan. He then gained national chain experience including a Managing Partner for Outback Steakhouse, GM positions with the Frankenmuth Brewing Company, Edwardo’s Natural Deep Dish Pizza, Cracker Barrel, and a multi-unit supervisor’s position for Big Apple Bagels, Big Boy, and Bennigan’s. He then worked for Gordon Food Service marketing team in Grand Rapids, MI, as the commercial segment manager, helping the GFS’s customers get the tools and solutions they needed to increase sales and control costs.

Dave has been a practitioner of the Great Game of Business® since 1994 and became a coach for The Great Game of Business in 2013.

Dave is a graduate of Michigan State University with an MBA from the Eli Broad Graduate School of Management, in finance and marketing.

Receive APTD/CPTD Professional Development Credits:

ATD Central Pennsylvania Chapter programs have been pre-approved by the ATD Certification Institute for continuing education credits towards professional development hours for recertification of the Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) and Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD) credentials.
