The reality for most in the learning and professional space is that we found our way to this field after working in various careers. How can we enrich our design skills through our previous callings and/or education?

This session engages you in exploring the challenges we face daily as instructional designers, while guided activities highlight valuable skills from previous professions that help us manage those issues.  Self-reflection and group discussion ignite your own thinking about career capabilities you possess.

This session is based on the newly released book The Multidisciplinary Instructional Designer which highlights the experiences of over a dozen professionals and how they have cultivated skills from their previous work to help them excel as an instructional designer.
